Biography
Ken Cawkell is the managing partner of the law firm Cawkell Brodie Glaister LLP and has over twenty-five years’ experience in intellectual property law, technology transfer and all aspects of corporate structuring, finance and securities law. Cawkell is proficient in both public and private venture capital markets. He is an investor in and founder of a number of private firms where he has held executive management positions. Cawkell currently sits on the board of directors of a number of private and public TSX/ TSX-V companies where he has been a member of both the executive and board committees, including Chief Financial Officer responsibilities. He is actively involved in business in China and is a founding Principal of the Far East Group, based in Hong Kong, which is focused on identifying biotech opportunities in the Asian market and finding the appropriate Asian commercialization partners. Mr. Cawkell has participated as a lecturer in Continuing Legal Education seminars and is currently a member of the Securities Law Advisory Committee to the British Columbia Securities Commission.
