Biography
Dr. Hussam Ashkar finished his studies in The Hebrew University in Jerusalem and received his B.Med.Sc in 2004 and Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D) in 2007. He has received an Award of Excellence for his academic achievements on 2003. Dr. Ashkar obtained a Certificate of Qualification from the National Dental Examining Board of Canada in January 2015 after he had successfully completed the NDEB Equivalency Process and the NDEB Certification Examinations in his first attempt at writing the exams. Dr. Ashkar moved to Canada with his wife and daughter, settled in Yarmouth NS and joined the SouthWest Dental team in April 2016. He has gained extensive clinical experience while working as a general dentist in some public and private clinics since 2007. He is keen to participate in numerous continuing educational dental courses and conferences to further his skills and dental education. Dr. Ashkar is pleased to offer dental treatment to his patients in three languages - Arabic, Hebrew and English. He enjoys traveling with his family and photography.
