Applied Analytical Chemistry, particularly of biofilms, polyacrylamides and surfactants; Growth and development of biofilms; Development of surfaces to prevent biofouling; Flocculation behaviour, mechanisms; Interactions of particles, adsorption of cationic copolyacrylamides, competition with cationic surfactant adsorption; Application of Raman and AFM to biofilm studies; The use of FTIR for applied analyses of silica, surfactants, and biofilms; Studies of the growth and architecture of biofilms; Nature of the exopolymers in bacterial (mainly Pseudomonas) biofilms; Fluorescent labelling. Capillary Electrophoresis. Studies involving the analysis of creatine and creatinine in blood and urine after supplementation: dose – uptake relationships, the effect of supplementation on erythrocyte creatine levels
