Biography
Dr. Sheldon Cheskes is the Medical Director, Regions of Halton and Peel, Sunnybrook Centre for Prehospital Medicine. Dr. Cheskes graduated from the University Of Toronto School Of Medicine in 1984 and served as Divisional Chief, Emergency Medicine Peel Memorial Hospital from 1986-2006. He has an academic appointment as an Assistant Professor, Department of Family and Community Medicine, Division of Emergency Medicine at the University of Toronto. He has a research appointment as a scientist at the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute, St. Michaels Hospital, University of Toronto. He is the CO PI for the Toronto site of the Resuscitation Outcomes Consortium (ROC) as well as co-chair of the ROC study monitoring committee. Dr. Cheskes is recognized as an authority in the area of CPR quality and has spoken and published extensively in the area of cardiac arrest resuscitation. His other research interests include prehospital airway management and prehospital systems of myocardial infarction care.
