Stanis Smith

Biography

Stanis joined architecture firm Architectura and served in positions of increasing authority until becoming chief executive officer. Sixteen years later Architectura was acquired by Stantec, and Stanis led the charge to grow Stantec’s Buildings group, which comprises our architects and engineers who design buildings. Under his leadership, our buildings group has grown to become one of the largest in the world today. Stanis led the Buildings Business line for ten years, growing the group organically and through acquisition to one of the largest integrated design practices in North America. He has lent his vision and expertise to a wide variety of projects around the word, including educational, entertainment and a series of airport projects in cities that include Chicago, Edmonton, Nassau Bahamas, Santiago Chile, Toronto and Vancouver.
