Biography
Steve is a member of Stantec’s executive vice president leadership team and leads our Project Delivery Office. He’s responsible for overseeing the management of major projects and public private partnerships. From Sweden to Chile, from the United States to Canada, Steve has successfully managed and implemented complex projects around the world. He brings over 30 years of experience in engineering, project management, and business management. Steve is an active member of his community and has served on several Boards. Currently, he’s the vice chair of Providence Health Care, the governing organization for 15 health care sites in Vancouver, British Columbia, including St. Paul’s Hospital. Steve is also past chair of the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies British Columbia (ACEC-BC) and current director and vice chair of ACEC-Canada, the national organization. Since 2009, Steve has ridden his bike with ride2survive, the Canadian Cancer Society’s largest independent fundraiser, personally raising over $25,000. As an expert on the topics of project management and public private partnerships, Steve has presented to organizations and conferences throughout North America and has lectured at the University of British Columbia, the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and Penn State University. He holds a bachelor of science (civil engineering) from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, along with a master of business administration from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, British Columbia. He is a professional engineer registered with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of the Province of British Columbia (APEGBC) and the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
