Biography
Mr. Shelswell heads up the mechanical group for STEM. He has a broad engineering background that began in the Pulp & Paper industry, where he progressed to the Senior Maintenance Manager in various operations (i.e. kraft pulp, specialty papers, and newsprint). Some significant installations he has been involved with are; a new paper machine, a thermal mechanical pulping operation, and an oxygen delignification & bleaching system. Darrell then moved into the Forestry sector to provide project management and engineering support for a number of major construction projects including a $350M O.S.B. plant in Northern Alberta. He also provided installation and startup for a new Tembec sawmill in Kapuskasing In design, he has completed mechanical processes, steam and process piping, pumps, conveyors, and finite element computer modeling of steam piping (ALGOR). Darrell's broad background in operations and construction, coupled with his design experience, provides a unique perspective for developing practical engineering solutions that work.
