Biography
With more than 20 years in the Intellectual Property (IP) field in both the United States and Canada, Brent has extensive experience with the strategic planning, development and management of IP portfolios for large international organizations as well as small start-up ventures. Prior to joining Stratford Managers, he was in private practice and was in-house counsel, giving him a unique insight into a business-centric approach to IP. Brent’s private practice experience includes preparing and prosecuting domestic and foreign patents and trademarks, conducting IP-related litigation and due diligence, negotiating and drafting IP-related agreements. Brent’s in-house experience includes acting as Senior Counsel and Director where he managed the legal and business activities of a global patent portfolio of over 5,000 patent assets. Brent is a firmer believer in growing and developing IP portfolios that are based on business goals and objectives. He assists clients on how to use their intellectual property to maximize the potential to reach those goals and objectives.
