Biography
Mr. Dean A. Connor has been the Chief Executive Officer and President of Sun Life Financial Inc. since December 1, 2011. Mr. Connor served as the Chief Operating Officer of Sun Life Financial from January 1, 2010 to July 2011. Mr. Connor was responsible for overseeing Sun Life's United Kingdom and Reinsurance businesses, international expansion and specific Corporate functions including Medical and Underwriting. He served as the President of Sun Life Financial Canada of Sun Life Financial Inc., since January 1, 2008. He served as an Executive Vice President of Sun Life Financial Asia since August 2006. He served as an Executive Vice President of Sun Life Financial Inc., since September 5, 2006. He served as Executive Vice President of Sun Life Financial Canada. He served as Executive Vice President of Sun Life Assurance Co. of Canada. He served as the President for Americas of Mercer Human Resources Consulting Ltd., responsible for the United States, Latin America and Canada. He served as the Chairman of Mercer Human Resource Consulting Limited. He has been a Director of Sun Life Financial Inc. since July 1, 2011. He served as a Trustee of MFS Charter Income Trust. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries in 1983 and 1984 respectively. He holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts from the Richard Ivey School of Business in 1978.
