Biography
Lorne Whitehead is the founder of SunCentral and the primary inventor of SunCentral’s technology. Dr. Whitehead also serves as SunCentral's Chief Technology Officer and as a Director. Dr. Whitehead holds over 100 patents and has substantial expertise in technology transfer. His prior inventions and patents have spun off companies that have been acquired by Philips Lighting, 3M and Dolby Labs. Dr. Whitehead is Special Advisor on Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of British Columbia, where he is also a Professor and the NSERC/3M Applied Physics Chairholder. He also serves as a Board Member and Treasurer for the Commission Internationale de l’Eclairage (CIE), based in Vienna.
