Stephen Freeman

Biography

In April 2014, Stephen Freeman was appointed as the Sunovion Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Executive Leadership Team. He provides executive leadership for the accounting, financial reporting, planning and analysis, procurement, tax and treasury functions. Mr. Freeman joined Sunovion Pharmaceuticals in 2004 and has served in a number of senior leadership roles including Vice President and Corporate Controller. He has participated in several key initiatives and business development transactions for the company; most notably, he helped navigate the acquisition transaction of Sepracor by Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma in 2009 and the subsequent merger transaction between Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma's original U.S. subsidiary, Dainippon Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. (DSPA), and Sepracor in 2010 to form Sunovion. Prior to joining Sunovion, Mr. Freeman served as the Corporate Controller for Firepond, a software firm. He began his career with Ernst & Young LLP in Boston, MA. Mr. Freeman holds a bachelor’s degree from Worcester State University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Clark University.
