Biography

Chris joined TEC Edmonton as an Intellectual Property Analyst in 2011 before moving over to Strategic Partnerships in 2014. He became Director in 2015 and his group manages metrics, funding agency reporting, and stakeholder relationships for TEC Edmonton. Later that year he started TEC Global Connector, which has the goal of helping Albertan entrepreneurs and SMEs discover, understand, and enter international markets. Chris has a diverse background with experience in the pharmaceutical sector, both as a scientific researcher and as a business development professional for a drug discovery contract research organization. Prior to this he ran the medicinal chemistry program for a University start-up and worked as a freelance scientific editor for the German Publishing group Thieme. He originally migrated from the UK to Canada in 2001, after gaining a PhD in chemistry from the University of Sheffield.
