Biography
George McIsaac is the owner and operator of Geology & Mining Evaluation Consulting and operates out of Chile. He has a Mining Engineering degree from McGill University in Montreal, a Masters in Mining Engineering from the same university, and a Ph.D. in Mining Engineering from Queen’s University in Kingston. He has 35 years’ experience in consulting, operations, teaching, and research. George is a specialist in hard-rock underground mining specializing in vein deposits with complex geometries, and has relevant experience in other types of deposits and in open pits. He worked as an engineer for several mining companies across Canada and Chile in the first twenty years of his career. His last position was that of Superintendent of Engineering at Barrick’s El Indio Mine in Chile, responsible for the design, planning, services, and special projects for three underground mines, and for the development of the closure plan for the site. George is a registered professional engineer in the provinces of Quebec and Ontario. He is a Qualified Person under the concept of the National Instrument 43-101, and a Qualified Valuator under the concept of CIMVal (mineral properties valuation standards of the Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy). He is a Director, Secretary and Treasurer of Fundacion Mineros Contra El Cancer (Foundation Miners Against Cancer), a Chilean charitable organization dedicated to helping families with scarce resources with children affected by cancer. George works across South America, North America, and Africa. He is fluent in Spanish, English, and French.
