Biography
Dr. Walter Dixon leads the University’s large and complex research and innovation portfolio.Dr. ixon was appointed Interim Vice President (Research) on July 1, 2017. For the pastthree years, he has served as Associate Vice-President (Research) (AVPR). A professor of biochemistry and molecular biology in the University’s Faculty of Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences (ALES), he has served as Associate Dean (research) and Associate Chair for the University’s Agriculture and Life Sciences Faculty. A graduate of the University of Alberta and the University of Cambridge, Dr. Dixon’s research focus is livestock reproductive performance and the impact of nutrition during gestation on embryo/fetal development, lifetime growth potential and animal health parameters.
