Biography
Mr. Ken Putt serves as President of the Engineering Institute of Canada (EIC). Mr. Putt was employed by Imperial Oil Limited for 27 years, the last fifteen of which were as an executive with responsibilities that included Northern Production Operations, Information Systems as well as production and oil sands research and Esso's Calgary Research Centre Manager. Mr. Putt's background is in the management of research, corporate governance, intellectual property, new technology development, innovation and new product/business development. He serves as founding Director and Honorary Lifetime Member of PTAC Petroleum Technology Alliance Canada and helped found CONRAD, (Canadian Oilsands Network for Research and Development). Mr. Putt serves as External Independent Director of Maxxam Analytics, Inc. Mr. Putt was a member of the University of Calgary Senate for 8 years. Mr. Putt is a member of the Licensing Executives Society (LES), a member of the CIM Petroleum Society, and an emeritus member of the Innovation Management Association of Canada (IMAC/ACGI). Mr. Putt holds a degree in Metallurgical Engineering from U.B.C. in 1965. He completed several courses through Dalhousie University’s MBA program and is a graduate of the University of Calgary’s Executive Development Program.
