Biography
Linda Coates was appointed Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Affairs on August 1, 2012. Ms. Coates joined Tembec in May 2011 as Corporate Vice President, Communications and Public Affairs, and she retains these accountabilities. Ms. Coates is responsible for leading the continued transformation of the organization as the senior executive accountable for all aspects of the Human Resources function, as well as for Internal and External Communications. Over the course of her 25-year career, Ms. Coates has held various senior executive positions in Canada and Europe with global, diversified, leading companies involved in the sectors of mining and metallurgy (Noranda, now Xstrata), cement and related products (St. Lawrence Cement, now Holcim) and high technology manufacturing (Bombardier). Ms. Coates graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Linguistics and Communications from Université de Montréal and a Master Degree in Business Administration from Université de Sherbrooke.
