Biography
Steve Shebik is executive vice president and chief financial officer of The Allstate Corporation and Allstate Insurance Company and a member of Allstate's operating committee. Shebik joined Allstate in 1995 as assistant vice president holding positions in mergers and acquisitions, Treasury and finance. He was promoted to vice president in 1999 to oversee acquisition integration, and subsequently, accounting and financial systems. He has served as chief financial officer of all three of Allstate's business units — Allstate Financial from 2001-2005, Allstate Protection from 2005-2008 and Allstate Investments from 2009-2012. Shebik held various corporate-level accounting and financial positions with Sears, Roebuck and Co. from 1988-1995, responsible for internal and external financial reporting, accounting policy, financial planning and mergers and acquisitions. He worked for Arthur Andersen & Co. in accounting and auditing services from 1980-1988. Shebik received bachelor degrees in accounting and finance in 1978 from the University of Illinois and a MBA in 1980 from the University of Chicago. He is a member of the Financial Executives Institute, the American Institute of CPAs and the Illinois CPA Society and is active in charitable endeavors in and around his hometown of Wheaton, Illinois.
