Biography
Nancy recently joined The Natural Step Canada as a communications coordinator. She is responsible for project and systems management for the communications team. Nancy is an experienced communicator, researcher and digital engagement specialist. Beginning her career on Parliament Hill, Nancy spent three years working on policy research and public communications. After leaving the Hill, she worked on policy and government relations with the Canada Foundation for Innovation. Most recently, she spent two years at Elections Canada with the outreach and stakeholder engagement team. She worked on social media and assisted with the delivery of youth civic engagement programs. Outside of the office, Nancy has volunteered on municipal, provincial and federal political campaigns, supporting outreach and community engagement efforts. Nancy is a graduate of Carleton University and holds a Masters in Sustainable Energy Policy and a Bachelors in Public Affairs and Policy Management with a specialization in Strategic Public Opinion. She has published papers and presented at conferences on the topics of urban sustainability and participatory urban planning methods. Her Masters thesis investigated the implementation of Ottawa's smart growth planning measures through a stakeholder engagement lens.
