Biography
Dr. Manso received her D.D.S. degree in 1992 (University of Londrina, Brazil), Master of Science in Operative Dentistry in 2005 (University of São Paulo, Brazil) and PhD in Dental Biomaterials in 2009 (University of São Paulo, Brazil). She also holds two specialty degrees, in Endodontics (1995) and Operative Dentistry (2001) along with 18 years of private practice experience. She taught Dental Biomaterials and Operative Dentistry to Specialization Courses in Brazil. During 2007 and 2008 she was Manager for Clinical Research at Bisco, Inc, USA. She held a position of Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida, Department of Restorative Dental Sciences before joining the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of British Columbia. Her research field is in Dental Biomaterials. Some of her major research interests are related to the mechanisms involved the degradation of resin-dentin interfaces for direct and indirect dental restorations; the evaluation of clinically feasible procedures to prevent and/or inhibit the interface degradation and recurrent caries; resin cements; and resin composite shade layering.
