Biography
Dr. Donnelly received her diploma in dental hygiene from Vancouver Community College in 1996 and her BDSc(DH) from UBC in 2002. She received her Master of Science degree from the University of British Columbia in 2005 for thesis "The Evaluation of a Comprehensive Daily Mouth Care Program for Long-Term Care Facilities". In 2012 she received her PhD in Craniofacial Science from UBC for the dissertation "The Relationship Between Perceived Oral Health, Body Image, and Social Interactions among Institutionalized Elders."
Research Interest
Continuing on from her PhD work, Dr. Donnelly's primary area of research interest is in the biopsychosocial effects of oral malodor. She also continues to investigate, develop and evaluate community outreach programs designed to further our understanding and improve the oral health of special care populations with a particular focus on institutionalized elders and those living with HIV.
