Biography
I am a professor in the Dept. Oral Biological & Medical Sciences at the Faculty of Dentistry, and a full pathologist in the Dept. Laboratory Medicine & Pathology at UBC hospital. I am one of two oral pathologists running a Provincial Oral Biopsy Service in BC. My research interest has been to identify genetic or phenotypic markers that could be used to diagnose high-risk oral premalignant lesions.
Research Interest
The long term goal of my research is to characterize in stage-specific fashion the key genetic and phenotypic changes, and the relevant cell alterations in oral premalignant lesions with a higher potential for malignant transformation.
