Biography
Dr. Ron Lalji graduated from the University of Alberta’s Faculty of Medicine in 1993. He completed training in Internal Medicine in the United States and commenced clinical practice in 1996. In 1998 Dr. Lalji began a Master’s Degree in the Faculty of Law at the University of Sydney, Australia. This degree was completed at the University of Alberta and a Master of Health Law was awarded in 2001. Beginning in 2002 Dr. Lalji worked as a medical advisor for the Worker’s Compensation Board of Alberta. In 2005 he moved to British Columbia and took up a similar position with WorkSafeBC. In the fall of 2006 Dr. Lalji undertook further training at the University of British Columbia. He completed a Master of Health Sciences in Epidemiology and Public Health in 2007 as part of a second residency in Community Medicine which was completed in 2009. Currently Dr. Lalji is a specialist medical advisor to Special Care Services at WorkSafeBC. His primary focus is on occupational diseases in addition to head and spinal cord injuries.
