Biography
Nipa Chakravarti is the Chief Transformation Officer for TransAlta Corporation. In her role, she is accountable for overseeing an enterprise-wide effort to change the way we work, ensuring key decisions are made rapidly while empowering teams to execute and deliver on measurable outcomes. Nipa is a results oriented individual and is driven by strong execution. Over the past five and half years, Nipa has also served as Vice President of Information Technology, responsible for guiding TransAlta to leading-edge technological changes, while simultaneously reducing cost. Nipa is known for innovating and implementing Lean methodologies to challenge the status quo. Prior to joining TransAlta, Nipa was the Vice President of Customer Service at FortisAlberta, a distribution Company of half a million customers and worked as a Senior Manager, Consulting at KPMG. At FortisAlberta, she successfully led all aspects of customer service, procurement, and billing & metering, including the implementation of half a million smart meters in Alberta. Nipa brings her extensive experience and strong understanding of business and finance to TransAlta. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Queen’s University and is a CPA, CA.
