Biography
As a Faculty Lecturer, or “hired mouth”, my interests lie in any field I’m asked to teach. This is an assignment that changes from year to year depending on sabbatical replacement needs and gaps in faculty hiring. Thus I would simply be described as a geologist, although many years ago I would have called myself a micropaleontologist. My research used foraminifera as tools to solve problems of broader interest in earth science. Given that it has been many years since I have had the time and opportunity to do research, perhaps I am a classic illustration of the maxim “Those who can, do. Those who can’t, teach.
