Major Responsibilities/Research Interests Martin Zuidhof Dr. Zuidhof is the first in the world to develop a precision feeding system to control feed intake in individual group-housed chickens. His research focuses on the ultimate fate of dietary energy, using linear and nonlinear mathematical models to predict the effects of nutrition, management, and genetics on poultry growth and reproductive performance. In addition to its practical commercial potential, the precision feeding system facilitates high quality research with free-run birds, addressing a major social issue of animal confinement.
