Biography
Miodrag Belosevic belongs to the department of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences Agricultural Food and Nutritional Science from the university of Alberta.
Research Interest
Dr. Belosevic is recognized as one of Canada’s leading parasitologists and comparative immunologists. His primary research interest is the immunobiology of host-parasite associations and his research goals have been to: (a) Describe and analyze the mechanisms of innate immunity to obligate intracellular and extracellular protozoan parasites in animals and humans; (b) Study the regulation of macrophage antimicrobial mechanisms in mammals and fish; and (c) Develop methods for detection and inactivation of protozoan parasites and prions in environmental samples.
