Research Interest

Dr. Gül’s research interests lie in the area of sustainability with a focus on two main areas: Improving the performance of Civil Infrastructure Systems (CIS) for creating a smart, sustainable and resilient infrastructure network; System Dynamics and Monitoring Novel Technologies for Sustainable, Smart and Resilient CIS Structural Dynamics, Structural System Identification, Damage Detection Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) Digital Signal & Image Processing and Statistical Pattern Recognition for SHM Improving the performance of renewable energy resources (with a focus on solar PV) and energy efficiency of buildings for creating smart, sustainable and energy efficient communities & cities; Solar PV Systems and their Integration to Buildings Interaction of Solar PV Systems with Smart Grid Smart Space Heating/Cooling Systems Integrated with Renewable Energy Systems Energy Efficient Smart Buildings Net-Zero Energy Homes.
