Pablo H Amigo

Biography

Dr. Pablo Amigo joined the staff at the Tertiary Palliative Care Unit at the Grey Nuns Hospital and the multidisciplinary Pain and Symptom Clinic at the Cross Cancer Institute in 2002, after completing a Fellowship in Palliative Medicine in 2001 and a Clinical Research Fellowship in Palliative Care in 2002, both at the University of Alberta. He graduated from the Universidad Nacional de Buenos Aires in 1992, and moved to Canada in 2000, after completing a 4 year residency training in Internal Medicine and a 2 year fellowship in General Internal Medicine in Argentina. Dr. Amigo was appointed as an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Palliative Medicine in September 2004. His areas of interest include pre and postgraduate education in palliative care, as well as assessment and management of dyspnea and thromboembolic prophylaxis in advanced cancer.

Research Interest

Research Dr. Amigo's research interests include use of anticoagulation in palliative care for primary and secondary thromboprophylaxis and education in palliative care. He continues to support ongoing local and international research projects on the Tertiary Palliative Care Unit at the Grey Nuns Hospital.
