Research Interest
Cardiovascular Physiology and Pharmacology During Hypoxia and Reoxygenation in Newborns. My research consists of both clinical as well as basic science studies in the neonate. I investigate the effects of novel interventions in critically ill neonates and the long-term outcome in early childhood. Newborn piglet is the animal model used in the laboratory for basic science studies. The current focus of the Neonatal Sciences Laboratory is on the effects of hypoxia-reoxygenation injury and the actions of inotrope and other cardiovascular supportive drugs in systemic and regional circulations and platelet functions.
