Rambabu Karumudi

Biography

Biography Rambabu Karumudi received his PhD in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Victoria, BC, Canada in 2005. From July 2005 to January 2007, he was a Research Member at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), Singapore. He joined ECE in February 2007. His current research interests include design and development of miniaturized microwave and millimeter-wave components and systems. He is also involved in ultra-wideband radar systems for medical and security applications. He has authored or coauthored more than 50 journal and conference papers. He is an Associate Editor for the International Journal of Electronics and Communications. Dr. Karumudi received the Andy Farquharson Award for excellence in graduate student teaching from the University of Victoria in 2003 and the Governor General’s Gold Medal for Ph.D. research in 2005.

Research Interests Microwave and millimeter wave circuits Ultra wideband components, systems, and applications Antennas and arrays Current Research My research mainly focuses on the design and development of microwave components and RF front-ends for various transceiver applications. Over the last five years my research is focused in the areas of Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology, and I’ve made a significant progress in developing design methodology for UWB components and systems. At present, my research is focused on developing circularly polarized UWB radar for imaging, target tracking, and identifying explosives.
