Biography
Biography Ravin NARAIN, PhD/PEng, is Professor in the Department of Chemical and Materials Engineering at the University of Alberta. He has published more than 120 articles in peer-reviewed journals and is the editor of three books namely Engineered Carbohydrate-Based Materials for Biomedical Applications (Wiley & Sons), Chemistry of Bioconjugates (Wiley & Sons) and Glycopolymers: Synthesis and Applications (Smithers & Rapra). He has also contributed more than 20 chapters in several books. Dr. Narain’s research examines nanomedicine and regenerative medicine, with an emphasis on developing new carbohydrate based biomaterials for drug and gene delivery for cancer therapy. In addition, he has an interest in interdisciplinary research and has extensive experience in developing innovative polymers, nanoparticles and nanofibers for advanced engineering applications.
