Biography

Professor Ronald B Moore, MD, PhD, FRCSC, FACS received his MD from the University of Alberta in 1986. He completed his surgical training in urology and research at the University of Alberta receiving his PhD in experimental surgery and uro-oncology research in 1991. He is an AHFMR Senior Scholar and the inaugural Mr Lube Chair in Uro-Oncology. Dr Moore’s research focuses on novel modalities/therapeutics for treating bladder, kidney and prostate cancer. This research has included laser surgery (including PDT), development of laser and light delivery/detection equipment, drug development, drug testing, drug delivery, biochemical and biological modifiers, molecular markers, predictive assays, gene therapy and development of animal model systems. Dr Moores clinical practice focuses on genitourinary cancers and renal transplantation. He is also involved in clinical trials and clinical outcome studies in these fields.
