Research Interest
Our research group is broadly interested in catalysis, organometallic chemistry, synthesis and reactivity. We seek to address problems and limitations in chemical synthesis by devising new concepts and tools related to homogeneous catalysis involving both transition metal and organic moieties. Specific interests include novel oxidative coupling reactions inspired by the reactivity of oxidase enzymes; simultaneous dual substrate activation strategies to enable, for example, olefin functionalizations; the development of new dehydrogenative processes; and alternative methods to generate single-electron reductants. Additionally, we are also interested in developing and exploiting strained unsaturated cyclic molecules as potential reagents for bioconjugation and click reactions.
