Biography

I am the Director of the weekly multidisciplinary melanoma clinic (MMC) at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic, which is unique in Canada. In 2011, the Alberta Medical Association awarded me its Distinguished Service Medal in recognition of the establishment of this clinic. The MMC has complementary educational and quality improvement programs, including the tumor review board, journal club, biannual strategic planning meetings, and community- wide updates on melanoma.  Dermatologic oncology and management of skin conditions with systemic implications constitutes the bulk of my practice. I provide leadership in the management of multiple dermatologic conditions not otherwise provided by other specialists in the province including comprehensive skin cancer management with an emphasis on melanoma and lymphoma, immunobullous diseases, diseases for which systemic treatments not available in the community (phlebotomies, Intravenous immunoglobulin, etc.), and the admission of dermatologic patients to hospital.   

Research Interest

In recent years my research activities have primarily revolved around epidemiology of skin cancers, survey methodology, and reporting of cases or case series. The latter invariably detail previously unknown findings.
