Catherine Chan belongs to the department of Agricultural, Life and Environmental Sciences Agricultural Food and Nutritional Science from the university of Alberta.
Research Interest
Major Responsibilities/Research Interests Obesity and type 2 diabetes are among the most prevalent chronic diseases and their incidence is increasing as developing countries adopt “westernized” lifestyles. My research program has two main foci. First, we study the effects of various diets and genetic factors on insulin secretion. Second, we develop and evaluate the effectiveness of physical activity interventions.
