Research Interest
Our research involves the application of proteomics- and genomics-based discovery techniques to identify, characterize and validate novel genes for crop improvement through biotechnology (genetic engineering). Recently, our group has been interested in the role of non-coding RNAs in mediating plant responses to stress. Ultimately, we hope to utilize the knowledge generated by research to improve crop plants to withstand environmental (abiotic) and pathogen (biotic) stresses through genetic engineering and / or gene editing. We are also very interested in developing longer-term collaboration on projects aimed at improving food and nutritional security throughout the world.
