Biography
Leili Tafaghodi research focuses on sustainable high-temperature processing of materials. She specializes in synthesis and refining of high-quality metals and alloys, with an emphasis on alternative approaches for purification of silicon for solar applications. The long-term objective is replacing the current energy-intensive, complex purification process with a simpler and less expensive method. Her areas of expertise also include liquid mixing in metallurgical baths, non-intrusive monitoring of metallurgical operations. The results of the above research can be used to optimize the amount of energy required for bath homogenization in metallurgical operations.
