Biography
Alex Leblanc joined the Dept. of Statistics in July 2003. Before coming to Winnipeg, he did all of his studies at the Université de Montréal, in the Département de Mathématiques et de Statistique, where he obtained his Ph.D. in Statistics in the fall of 2002. He worked under the supervision of J.-F. Angers, which makes him an academic grandson of James O. Berger. His thesis focused on the use of wavelets in Bayesian calculation and empirical Bayes estimation.
