Biography
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Manitoba, where I lead the Data Security & Privacy (DSP) laboratory. My research addresses the data privacy and security issues in the emerging technologies. In particular, I design, implement, and evaluate practical systems with provable privacy guarantee for data management in different application scenarios such as healthcare, location-based services, and social networks. I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science at Concordia University in 2012 under the supervision of Prof. Mourad Debbabi and Prof. Benjamin C. M. Fung. I also completed my M.A.Sc. in Information Systems Security at Concordia University in 2008. Before coming to UofM, I was an NSERC postdoctoral fellow in the School of Computer Science at McGill University and a member of the Cryptography, Security, & Privacy (CrySP) Research Group at the University of Waterloo.
