Zou Zou Kuzyk
Professor
Department of Geological Sciences
Canada
Biography
Ph.D. University of Manitoba, M.Sc. Queen's University
Research Interest
Dr. Kuzyk studies the biogeochemical cycles of carbon and other elements in Arctic coastal and continental shelf areas, which integrate and respond to both changes on the land (river runoff, coastal erosion) and in the marine environment (sea ice, ocean currents). Presently, her research focuses on: Terrigenous organic matter in Arctic margin areas: sources, pathways and sinks Modelling sedimentation processes in Arctic coastal and shelf environments Diagenesis of redox-sensitive elements Freshwater sources and pathways in the coastal ocean Land-ocean interactions and the marine nutrient cycle Pathways and fate of contaminants
