Biography
Anne Marchand is an Associate Professor and Vice-Dean, Research, Head of Research Group Design and Material Culture Research Associate at the Interuniversity Center for Research on the Life Cycle of Products, Processes and Services (CIRAIG) Education: 1 st round DIN 3211 Design and material culture 2 e cycle AME 6502 Methodologies Research AME 6503 Design research: issues and methods Her Areas of expertise are Responsible consumption, Material culture, Design, Industrial Design, Local and regional development, ecodesign, Research Methodology and Social responsibility.
Research Interest
Anne Marchand is an industrial designer. In general, she is interested in theories and practice of sustainable design. His research focuses on the creation of products for the responsible and cultural consumption markets, the integration of artisanal and industrial production scales, design and innovation as a means of reinterpreting and reappropriating culture, as well as on the renewal of traditional knowledge and know-how. She is responsible for the Design and Material Cultures research group at the Université de Montréal, affiliated with the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. She is currently conducting research-action activities with members of the Atikamekw Nehirosiwok Nation, one of the First Nations of Quebec, through the multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary Tapiskwan project she leads. TAPISKWAN aims at the cultural and socio-economic development of the Atikamekw communities by building on two vital forces: the rich heritage of the Nation and the great creativity of its members. This initiative was born of a partnership between members of the Atikamekw Nation Council and designers from the University of Montreal. Atikamekw cultural representatives, artists and entrepreneurs, as well as researchers in management and anthropology, joined the project.
