Research Interest
His research activities focus on the cognitive aspects of visual processing, both in the normal person and in the brain-damaged individual. The main objectives of my work are the specification of normal mechanisms involved in visual processing and characterization of functional deficits following brain damage. These goals are pursued through behavioral and electrophysiological methods. The projects I am currently pursuing concern the following topics: Reading: visual mechanisms (ie perception of form and visual-spatial attention) involved in access to orthographic-lexical knowledge in the recognition of written words and organization of the lexical representation system. Visual recognition of objects: properties of the encoding system of visual forms and representation of structural knowledge.
