Research Interest
His field of research is the study of elections. I am currently leading a major research project ( Making Electoral Democracy Work ) that examines and compares voter and party behavior in 26 elections in five countries (Canada, France, Spain, Germany, and Switzerland) through surveys and research. an analysis grid of party strategy. I am particularly interested in individual and contextual factors (especially election rules) that affect the decision to vote or abstain as well as the decision to vote sincerely or strategically. In the last few years I have started experimenting in the laboratory. I am finally the chairman of the Steering Committee of the Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES), which compares voter behavior in more than 50 countries. I also hold the Canada Research Chair in Electoral Studies.
