Research Interest
Carde Estelle is interested in the incorporation of the social, that is, the way in which the state of health of individuals and populations testifies to their life in society. More precisely, I am working on social inequalities in health, namely the health marks of the unequal dimensions of this life in society. After having studied for several years the social inequalities of health according to the origin (immigrant and ethno-racial), I mobilize today an intersectional perspective to understand the integration and the co-construction of various social hierarchies (the origin but also socioeconomic status and gender, in particular) in the production of social inequalities in health. Areas of expertise: Health, Social inequalities and discrimination, French Guiana.
