Research Interest
In Dalpe Robert's view the development of science and technology is an important area of state intervention in industrialized countries. Governments have strongly supported military technologies and more recently health research. My research focuses on public policies that guide the direction and scope of research and scientific organizations. Policies are currently emphasizing different forms of interaction with the private sector, with the aim of maximizing the economic benefits of public investments. The commercialization of research via patents, licenses or spinoffs becomes a priority. My current research concerns these commercialization activities in the biotechnology sector in the United States and Canada. The results show the diversity of practices according to the strategies and perceptions of university researchers, their research subjects and business opportunities for the industry. Areas of expertise: Public policies, Science and politics, Policy evaluation.
