Research Interest
Demers Andree's research is rooted in the paradigm of social determinants of health. One question crosses all of these: how does the social environment and the position of individuals in this environment influence mental health or drinking practices? My research is mainly based on survey data to understand the complex relationships between individuals and their social environment. My work has focused on the situational and relational contexts of alcohol consumption and the mechanisms by which work organization and objective and subjective work conditions affect mental health, with particular attention to gender relations. . Current projects: social determinants of health, social inequalities in health, Alcohol, Mental Health and social epidemiology.
