Research Interest
He continued his research on changes in political systems. I study corruption in its impact on political change. This impact is particularly important in the evolution of political systems in Russia and also in the post-Soviet space. Corruption and authoritarianism are linked. On the one hand, corruption is to a large extent responsible for authoritarianism; on the other hand authoritarianism generates corruption. Corruption has a lot to do with the prevailing political system in Russia and in emerging countries in general. This authoritarianism has various features: lack of democracy, personalization of power, resilience and a certain economic efficiency. I am trying to answer the following questions: why do some societies seem to prefer authoritarianism to liberal democracy? Why in some societies authoritarian leaders seem more popular than democratic institutions.
