Research Interest
Jean Therrien is interested in the generalization of communication technologies and in the new practices of interior interior design. He develops the notions of adaptability and flexibility through the evolution of the modes of occupation of the interiors, and studies the sensory processes and the characterization of the atmospheres in the commercial architecture. The seat of its research interests is now based on three areas of reflection: the professional development of interior design, design and materials as well as contemporary housing and interior design. In the field of materials, where he was particularly active in the 90s, he wrote a book on the alliance of aluminum and design. Also concerned about the disciplinary roots, he published a book retracing the history of interior design in Quebec.
