Biography
Dr. Labbe is working as Assistant Clinical Professor in Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at University of Montreal.
Research Interest
Our research team is using the nematode embryo Caenorhabditis elegans as a model to understand how cell polarization phenomena can lead to asymmetric cell division and the specification of cell diversity. Since loss of cellular polarity can lead to the development of metastases under certain conditions, this work will provide a better understanding of the molecular signaling pathways involved in this process. In addition, since cell polarity is crucial for the division of all types of stem cells, this work will provide new information on cellular renewal and regeneration mechanisms.
