Research Interest
Her research projects focus on improving the treatment of people with a serious mental disorder, either by creating new treatments, assessing needs, or training mental health workers. I have collaborated, among other things, in the creation and validation of behavioral cognitive therapy group interventions to improve the self-esteem or symptoms of people with psychosis. My current research focuses on first-episode clients, but I'm also interested in people with a longer clinical history. My current research focuses on the impact of cognitive behavioral therapy on the symptoms and functioning of people who have had a first psychotic episode (CIHR grant); the profiles of the first episodes that follow or not the treatment recommendations for their psychosis (MSFHR grant, Norma Calder); the impact of motivational interviewing on treatment adherence in early episodes; care and clinical profiles, as well as the creation of group treatment for people with psychosis following methamphetamine abuse (CIHR grant); the impact of cognitive behavioral therapy for psychosis on an incarcerated psychiatric clientele; employment support (CIHR grant) and education for those with a serious mental disorder; cognitive remediation related to social functioning in people with psychosis suffering from cognitive deficits. I am also interested in the stigmatization of psychosis and the transfer of knowledge in the community.
